Our Mission
Why do people join the armed forces? Is it a sense of obligation? Duty, possibly national pride? Maybe it’s a belief that it’s necessary to advance in life. Whatever the reason people do it, the men and women that make this selfless commitment do it not only for themselves but to the benefit of every American. The XO Community Development Initiative was created to acknowledge their sacrifice, and provides social service support for the underserved.
We want to show our gratitude for their commitment to protecting our country and our way of life. The XO Initiative feels the same sense of duty, obligation and national pride by giving back to these veterans. We feel it’s our responsibility to repay our veterans for the countless dividends we’ve received, as a result of their commitment and bravery. These brave soldiers should not have to come home and find themselves homeless.
The XO Initiative believes all veterans and their families should be provided the tools and opportunities to succeed in life. One of the most basic tools we can provide to veterans is a safe affordable place to live. Many veterans returning to civilian life are returning to challenging circumstances that were not of their making. It’s difficult enough coming home with the physical scars, but some of these fine veterans are returning with emotional and mental issues that require attention also. For others the circumstances at home may have just changed while they were serving. Whatever the reason, returning home and living on the streets can’t be an option. They deserve better.
In all these situations there is a need for organizations like the XO Initiative and people like you to step up, do the right thing and help. Together with our partners, we can provide the financial support, physical labor and caring needed to achieve our goal of providing our homeless veterans with affordable transitional housing while they move forward in life.
The mission of the XO Community Development Initiative is to provide affordable transitional housing and social services.
"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
