Re-entry Education Services

All about second chances.

In addition to helping communities with transitional housing needs, in 2022, the XO Initiative expanded its social services to acknowledge the need for re-entry education as part of building a stable long-term future. To support this arm of our mission, we created a Grants Program (below) to partner with federal, state, and local organizations who have identified needs.

Grants Program

On the long and winding road of life, basic skills and advanced education lead to better chances of success. The XO Community Development Initiative believes that those who have had arrest or conviction experience are a unique and underserved population. Our goal is to partner with and mentor those in pre-release settings who wish to make great strides toward their long-term future by adding to their education while incarcerated. For those with a nexus to the justice system, building blocks of support with our partners include addressing the “whole person” such as recognition of, and support for, addiction and/or mental health struggles along the way.
